101 in 1001

Have you heard of the website called dayzero?  It’s a site that allows you create a list of goals, the most popular choice of list is “101 Things in 1001 Days”.  I created a list for myself this week, which if you like you can follow, then add your own and I can follow back.  You can put anything you like on your list, no matter how crazy or how mundane – it’s your list.

Below is my list, which I’ve split into groups (to make it easier for myself), as I do them I will update the list.  Here’s hoping I manage to make a decent dent!

The Mission:

Complete 101 preset tasks in a period of 1001 days.

The Criteria:

Tasks must be specific (ie. no ambiguity in the wording) with a result that is either measurable or clearly defined.  Tasks must also be realistic.

Why 1001 Days?

Many people have created lists in the past – frequently simple goals such as new year’s resolutions.  The key to beating procrastination is to set a deadline that is realistic.  1001 days (about 2.75 years) is a better period of time than a year, because it allows you several seasons to complete the tasks, which is better for organizing and timing some tasks such as overseas trips or outdoor activities.

The Start Date:
14th July 2015

The End Date:
10th April 2018

Family

  1. Create a family photo book
  2. Update our will
  3. Have a second baby
  4. Move to Tauranga
  5. Adopt a pet that needs rescuing
  6. Get a dog
  7. Go on a family camping trip
  8. Do something special for our first wedding anniversary
  9. Throw a big party for Ivy’s 2nd birthday (her 1st birthday party got rained off)
  10. Go on a date each month with my husband
  11. Have a girls day with Ivy

    Health & Fitness

  12. Reach my goal weight
  13. No fast food for a month
  14. Do the Couch to 5K running plan

  16. Go to the gym at least 3 times a week for a whole month
  17. Participate in Round the Bays 2016 with Ivy (and beat our time from 2015)

  1. This is very inspiring! I used to have such list when I was teenager and younger, but ever since I hit my 20 I forgot about my wishes and dreams.. I want to create my list! Thanks for sharing. Hope you do many things on the list 🙂
